
Pauline Melvin Stevenson, age 73 of Greenville, passed peacefully on June 15, 2016. She was born in New York City and spent her childhood in Palm Beach, Fla. Pauline graduated from Auburn University and taught school in Highlands, North Carolina for several years prior to her marriage. She was a dedicated homemaker, faithfully raising her four children.
Pauline was a devoted member of Mitchell Road Presbyterian Church for over forty years, where she served in the choir, on the flower committee and as a 3 year old Sunday school teacher.
Surviving are her daughters, Molly Stevenson Canale (Blair) of Birmingham, Ala. and Mary Elizabeth Stevenson of Chicago; sons, Thomas Stevenson, Jr. (Christy) of Asheville, N. Car. and Rev. Hunter Stevenson (Heather) of Macon, Ga.; brothers, Richard Melvin (Margie) of Highlands, N. Car. and William Melvin, Jr. of Winter Haven, Fla.; grandchildren, Isabelle, Will, and Jack Stevenson; Mary Rachel, Mia, Stone and Hunt Stevenson; Kreysa, Sam and Mary Taylor Canale; and Jacques DeYoung. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by a brother, Paul Melvin.
Funeral service 11 a.m. Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Mitchell Road Presbyterian Church with Rev. Andy Lewis and Rev. Curtis DeBose officiating. The family will greet friends following the service.
Private burial in Highlands Cemetery.
