Born on Sept. 9, 1927, she grew up in Dinuba, CA, with fond memories of playing with her brothers, Steve and Harold, on the family farm.
She was a highly accomplished pianist, having won a Julliard high school competition, but gave up a career in piano to follow the call to missions.
Pearl met Richard at Westmont in CA their freshman year, but graduated from Bob Jones Univ. in SC with a degree in Piano Performance in 1949. They married on October 7, 1950, and began their ministry on the Amazon in 1952. She spent her life in tireless service to others, and many consider Pearl to have made an eternal impact in their lives. "A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies" Prov. 31:10.
