Polly Long Bridwell, 91, of Greenville, passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2014 after a brief illness. She was the widow of Ansel L. “Ace” Bridwell. A native of Greenville, she was the daughter of Paul R. and Flora Mae Long and the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mrs. Bridwell was a member of Earle Street Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter Cheryl Helms (Mike), a daughter-in-law Carol Bridwell; seven grandchildren, Charlotte Kilgore Adams (Chris), Rob Kilgore (Cathy), Jon Nubson (Amanda), Lindsey Helms, Tyler Helms, Elizabeth Bridwell and Wes Bridwell (Kelli); and six great grandchildren. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a son Ronald Long Bridwell and brothers Paul R. Long, Jr. and Jack N. Long. Visitation will be held Saturday, August 30, 2014 from 12:00pm – 1:00pm at The Mackey Mortuary, followed by a 1:30pm service in the Remembrance Chapel at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
