It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard (Rick) Vincent Coon, a man of remarkable strength and resilience, who courageously battled cancer, until he peacefully passed away on Sunday June 16th, 2024.
Rick was born in Miami, Florida to Richard and Barbara Coon on June 01, 1957. After serving in the Marine Corp, he began his career in the automotive industry, where he then graduated from Vance Granville in 1993 with an associate in Computer Science. Later he moved to Greenville, SC in 1995 where he worked as a service manager for Love Cheverolet and then Kevin Whitaker, before taking a job programming computers for Snap On Tools. He was employed with Snap On for the last 7 years. He was devoted to his job, but his greatest achievements were his two daughters and six grandchildren. Everything he did was for his family.
Rick is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Judy Coon, daughters Ashley Garrett (Jason) and Rachel Ninan (Alec) and his six grandchildren Skylar, Maddex, Liam, Elijah, Kennedy, and Quinn.
Rick is preceded in death by father Richard Ira Coon, mother Barbara Jean Coon, sister Catherine S. Lobanov, and his beloved dog Pepper Ann.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday June 28th, 2024 at Graceland East Cemetery. Pastor Ethan Dean will be officiating services. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to the National Sea Turtle Foundation in Rick’s honor. https://savetheseaturtle.org/
