Robert (Robin) Bradley Poe of 314 Trussel Drive, Anderson, SC, died Monday, November 3rd, 2025, at the age of 64. Born in Greenville, he was the son of the late Nelson Crawford and Janie Sue Cline Poe. Robin graduated from Wade Hampton High School and then attended Montreat Anderson College where he played 2 years of college basketball and then attended Western Carolina University.
For eleven years, Robin worked as the warehouse manager at the family business, Poe Hardware and Supply Co, later the Poe Corporation until it closed in 1992. Then he was employed at Dillan/Poe Supply for ten years as a GE salesman. Afterward, he semi-retired from the “new” Poe Supply and continued a sales position while working part time at OSS (Owen Simister Supply). At each of his positions, he was known for his superb organizational skills--even keeping pencils sharp at every position.
Robin leaves behind his brothers, Nelson (Buddy) Crawford Poe (Carol-deceased), and Mitchell Bryan Poe (Catherine); and sisters, Rebecca (Becky) Poe Johnson (Jimmy), and Nancy Poe Tant Myers (Mike); stepmother, Ann Berry Poe; and stepsisters, Carter Berry, Claudia Carrucci, and Scott Simister (Christie) cousin and lifelong friend.
He is predeceased by one brother Randall Sloan Poe. And the proud uncle of 14 loving nieces and nephews, and numerous cousins.
Robin was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Greenville, SC, and always had a huge, giving heart for his family and friends. He lived quietly and never turned down anyone who wanted to spend time at his lake house, take a boat ride, go skiing, jet skiing, or cook on the grill. Always happy to share his loud music, surprisingly, his cat Lucy never went deaf. He loved working in his yard and willingly shared his expertise about growing grass, types of grasses, and types of bushes.
Robin loved sports, especially Clemson football. In his early years he grew up in the church gymnasium, playing basketball at every free moment. He also played baseball which led to his experiences in competitive softball.
Robin warmly accepted every person he met and considered them to be his best friend. He willingly gave whatever he could to help anyone in need. His big heart and desire to care for others will be missed. The family extends their expressions of sincere appreciation to his Lake Hartwell neighbors who cared for him.
Robin was too young to leave this world, but the family is comforted in the assurance that he is resting in God’s arms.
A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church (200 W. Washington St., Greenville, SC) in the Sanctuary on Tuesday, November 18, at 11:00 AM. Visitation will follow immediately after the service in Abbott Gathering at the church.
Memorials in honor of Robin Poe may be given to Hebron Colony Ministries/356 Old Turnpike Rd., Boone, NC 28607. https://www.hebroncolony.org/donations.html
