Ruth McCauley

Born on January 22, 1927 in Greenville, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Eula Lynch. After graduating from Parker High School in 1944, Ruth married the late Robert Earle McCauley on May 5 of that year and together they raise two children. Ruth began her working years at Brooks Brothers and Ivey's Department Store. She then went on to spend the rest of her career as a teacher's aide at Sans Souci Elementary School and Enoree Career Center. A proud member of Sans Souci Baptist Church, Ruth spent many years teaching children's Sunday school classes.

In addition to her parents Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Robert, brothers Jack Lynch and Eugene Lynch, and sisters, Hellen Kelley, Betty Rampey, as well as an infant sister, Margaret.

Ruth is survived by her children, Robbie Eloise Hanley (Raymond) and Robert Earle McCauley Jr. (Kimberly), grandchildren Joshua Hanley (Sarah), Justin Hanley (Rachel), Jennifer Jones (Joshua), and Ben McCauley, as well as great-grandchildren Marley Hanley, Avery Hanley, and Piper Jones.

A funeral service for Ruth will be held Friday, June 6, 2025 at 10:00 AM in Remembrance Chapel at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1901 Wade Hampton Blvd, Greenville, SC 29609.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Open Arms Hospice, 1836 West Georgia Road, Simpsonville, SC 29680 in remembrance of Ruth.
