Tim served five years of active duty in the United States Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corps during which time he was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal aboard the USS Frank Cable. Upon entering civilian life, Tim worked diligently as an Assistant Solicitor for the SC Eighth Judicial Circuit. His other activities included membership in American Legion Post 20, and former Deacon/Elder of Greenwood First Presbyterian Church.
Tim loved sports, history, and good conversation. He engaged easily with others, maintaining an ever-increasing circle of beloved and diverse friendships. Tim was a family man who took pride in helping to preserve Millway House, the ancestral home of his wife, Ann. He had a gentle soul and a heart full of grace.
In retirement, Tim and Ann resided in Greenville, where Tim became happily active in the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Furman University.
In addition to his wife Ann Woolston (nee Harrison) of forty-one years, Tim is survived by two sons, Robert Harrison Woolston and John Cothran Woolston, both of Greenville. Robert and John were the greatest joys of Tim’s life, and he felt privileged to be their father. Surviving also are Tim’s brother, Vernon Lee Woolston, Jr. of Seattle, Washington, and seven nieces and nephews.
A private family Celebration of Life will be held in the coming weeks. Friends can leave condolences online by clicking on the Add a Memory button below.
In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes in Tim’s honor can be made to Upstate Warrior Solution at the Rupert Huse Veteran Center, PO Box 27232, Greenville, South Carolina 29616.
Finally, during this holiday season, Tim’s family asks that all who loved him keep their festive lights twinkling in joy for having had Tim with us in this earthly life.
