Virginia was one of the first hired on at Meyers-Arnold when it became one of the first anchor stores of McAlister Square in 1968. She continued on for an additional 10 years at Belk-Simpson. She, like her late husband, Bobby, was an avid collector of antiques and oddities.
She is survived by her three children, Bobbie Jean Cummins Barnett (Steve), Robert Wayne Cummins, Jr. (Claire Jo), and Melissa Cummins Seiler (Scott); four grandchildren, Robert Steven Barnett, Mary Jo Cummins Shotwell (Michael), Andrew Scott Cummins (Courtney), and Anna Virginia Seiler (Scott); and two great grandchildren, Sara Shotwell and Isabelle Shotwell.
She was predeceased by her first husband and staff sergeant of the United States Air force, Robert Wayne Cummins, Sr., husband, Bobby O’Shields, and her daughter, Debi Cummins Campana.
