William "Billy" Pomeroy Mahaffey

Born in Greer, SC, to Archie Pomeroy Mahaffey and Hazel Brown Mahaffey, Billy proudly served in the Army Reserves before beginning his professional career with Milliken. He later dedicated over 20 years to Fiberweb/BBA Nonwovens.

Billy was married for 47 years to Janice Everman Mahaffey. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and son—remembered for his unwavering faith, tireless work ethic, and deep love for his family. He passed on his passion for plants and the outdoors to his children and found great joy in caring for his granddaughters before and after school.

A faithful Christian and longtime member of Cross Roads Baptist Church, Billy lived his life in service to others and to his community. Those who knew him will remember him as someone who was never idle—always active, always giving.

Billy is survived by his beloved wife, Janice Everman Mahaffey; his son, Jason Mahaffey and his fiancée Shea Alexander; his daughter, Angela Patterson and her husband Bradley; and his cherished granddaughters, Allyson Patterson and Brooklyn Patterson.

Services will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025 at Cross Roads Baptist Church, 705 Anderson Ridge Rd., Greer, SC 29651. Visitation will begin at 1:30 PM followed by the funeral service at 2:30 PM with burial to follow at Cross Roads Baptist Church.
