Edward A Daly

Edward Albert Daly of Greenwich, CT and Dorset, VT died peacefully on December 11th at Greenwich Hospital after a brief illness. His children, Dina Delaini, Mindy Green, Mark Daly, Brooke Daly, Susie Johnson, Scott McGowan, and Dana Noonan, attended him through his illness. Ned was 84 years old. A life long advertising and marketing executive, Ned started his career in New York at SSC&B and went on to represent many publications including Life and Smithsonian magazines. Ned attended Brunswick School, Kent School and Yale University and served with the 1st Marine Corps Division in Tienshan, China in WWII.

An avid golfer, he was a long time member of the Round Hill Country Club, Greenwich CT a member of the Ekwanok Country Club, Dorset VT, the Brook Club, NYC, and the US Senior Golf Assn. Ned was also “D1” at Belle Haven Club, one of the longest held memberships. A lover of jazz and Westies, he is survived by his sister, Eugenie Hess Voorhees. Ned is fondly remembered by his wife, Penelope Kapp Daly, children, Susie Johnson of Rye, NY, Scott McGowan of Houston, TX, and Dana Noonan of Greenwich, CT. Also by his first wife, Michelle Campbell, children, Dina Delaini of Costa Rica, SA, Mindy Green of Rowayton, CT, Mark Daly of Hood River, OR and Brooke Daly of Monroe, OR. He is also fondly remembered by Mimi Winston Daly of Far Hills, NJ and children, Lynn Blagden of Shoreham, VT, John Winston Ehrenclou of Bernardsville, NJ, and Jamie Ehrenclou of Los Angeles, CA. Also sending fond remembrances are children of Pauline Herzog Daly of Aspen, CO (now deceased): Jackie Antoine and Chip Lee of Boulder, CO, and Rosalyn Naylor of Portola Valley, CA.

A service and reception will be held at Round Hill Community Church, 395 Round Hill Road, Greenwich, CT on Thursday, December 16th at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, please send gifts in memory of Ned Daly to Kent School, P.O. Box 2006, Kent, CT 06757.
