Janet Carol Hermance, longtime Greenwich resident of 60 years died peacefully at her home Wednesday, June 28th 2023 at age 93. Born on January 22nd, 1930 to Mr. & Mrs. Belden Lynch of Brooklyn, NY and raised in Westchester County, Mrs. Hermance graduated from Syracuse University & received a BA in social psychology.
Mrs. Hermance worked as a medical social worker at White Plains Hospital (20 years). She was a deacon and member of Stephen Ministries and a longtime member of First Congregational Church.
For years Mrs. Hermance volunteered, raised money and was a board member of Camp Comanche; a provider of summer experiences for young people in need. She enjoyed tennis, swimming and skiing. Mrs. Hermance was admired for her gracious manner, humour and warm disposition.
Mrs. Hermance (Carol) is survived by her daughter Elizabeth (Daniel Wilberding) of Stuart FL, son Thomas of Bella Coola BC, two grandchildren, one great-grandson, 8 nieces and a nephew. Services are private.
