Jeannie S. Zimmel

Jeannie S. Zimmel of Rye, NY passed away on Friday, September 17 at the age of 84. Mrs. Zimmel was born May 11, 1926 in New York City to Fedora and Roman Sharak. She was the widow of Joseph A. Zimmel, to whom she was married for 61 years. Jeannie's career included positions with CBS, Sears, Allstate Insurance and Surety Life. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and traveling.

Mrs. Zimmel is survived by her daughter Jane of Peterborough, NH, sons Joseph, of Greenwich, CT, Jerome and his wife Linda of Raymond, NH, and John and his wife Caroline of Oxford, CT. She also leaves her grandchildren Jennifer Beaver, Jacqueline Masi, Christopher Zimmel, Michael Zimmel, and Alicia, Katherine, Andrew and John Zimmel, as well as her great grandchildren Zachary and Samantha Beaver and Trent Masi. She was predeceased by her sister Katie Baranishyn and brother John Sharak.

Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:00 am on Wednesday, September 22 at the Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 31 Arch St, Greenwich. A funeral service will take place after visitation at 11:00 am at Stanwich Congregational Church, 202 Taconic Rd, Greenwich, followed by an internment at Putnam Cemetery, 35 Parsonage Rd, Greenwich.
