Bergendorff, Ronald V., 87, of Old Greenwich, passed away on April 17, 2013. Beloved son of the late Viggo and Thyra Bergendorff (nee Ollsen), he was born on March 5, 1926 in Mt. Vernon, NY. He lived most of his adult life in Old Greenwich where he was able to enjoy his favorite hobbies – power boating and coaxing the blooms in his yard. Known as a devout meat eater, only in the last week of his life did his family find out that he apparently was allergic to many fruits and vegetables. Or perhaps he just said that to avoid the overcooked green beans at the hospital. An only child, and a lifelong bachelor, he was devoted to his mother and cared for her as she aged. He is survived by cousins, including Robert Bergendorff of Brewster, Suzanne Frank of Larchmont, and George Frank of Saco, ME. He was proud to be called ‘Uncle Ronnie’ by Max and Elizabeth Coretto, children of Suzanne Frank. Ronald served in the Army during WWII. After the war, he earned a degree in business from Pace University, and worked for many years at Berhan Precision Tools. A Graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at First Congregational Church in Old Greenwich at 11:00am
