Mr. Valentine Val Koory

Valentine A. Koory “Val” was born May 30, 1944 in Bridgeport, CT. He died after a sudden illness January 7, 2012 in Chattanooga, TN. His childhood was spent in Stratford, CT. He lived in White Plains, NY. He worked for the MTA in New York City for the past 33 years. He loved to travel and recently visited many national parks out west. He was a supporter of the Olympics. He was a fan of the New York Mets and Yankees and looked forward to going to local sporting events and concerts. He also loved visiting his family and friends. All who knew and loved him will sorely miss him.

He was predeceased by his wife, Kathleen “Kathy” (McGovern) Koory, his father, Abraham C. Koory and his mother, Margaret (Dresel) Koory. He is survived by his brothers Charles H. Koory of Chattanooga, TN and John Koory, of Winter Springs, FL and many devoted nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews who called him “Uncle Val.”

A viewing will take place Thursday, January 19 from 3-7pm at Leo P. Gallagher and Sons, 31 Arch Street, Greenwhich, CT . A funeral mass will take place Friday January 20 at 10am at St. Catherine of Siena R.C. Church in Riverside, CT. Internment will follow at cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent in his honor to your local hospice charities.
