Adam Michael Jennings, 52, of Dickinson, ND, formerly of Alma, AR, passed away on January 16, 2025 at his home after battling cancer for the past nine months. Adam was born on August 5, 1972 in Renton, WA, the son of Rhonda Jennings.
He proudly served in the United States Naval Reserves for six years. He graduated from Eastern Washington University with an Associate's degree in Sociology in 2001 and earned his MBA from the University of Phoenix in 2012. He was working on completing his Ph.D. in Criminal Justice. He worked nearly two decades as a juvenile probation officer in Crawford and Washington counties. In 2023, Adam accepted a position at Dickinson State University in Dickinson, ND as an Assistant Professor, teaching Criminal Justice courses. Teaching was his passion, and he found great joy in impacting young peoples' lives.
In his free time, Adam enjoyed fishing, camping, cooking, watching movies, and snuggling with his four-legged friends, Murphy and Rudy.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 22 years, Kelly; his mom, Rhonda of Washington; mother-in-law, Paula Trotter of Hackett; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Kim and James Lisenby of Pottsboro, TX and nephew and niece, Austin and Allyson Lisenby. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Stanley Trotter.
Memorial service will be held 10 a.m., Wednesday, January 29 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday from 5 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
