Benny Earl Fisher, Sr., passed from this life Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at his home with his wife, Linda and his family by his side. Benny was born on September 30, 1948 in Lee County, Arkansas to Floyd and Emma (Hicks) Fisher. He was 74 years old. Benny loved his family, raising cattle and bailing hay. Benny was a Vietnam Veteran, retired employee of Whirlpool and attended Amity Missionary Baptist Church.
Benny leaves behind a loving wife of 52 years, Linda Fisher of Hackett and two sons, Benny Earl Fisher, Jr. and wife, Kim of Hackett and Floyd Marshall Fisher and wife, Angel of Greenwood. Benny’s five grandchildren brought him much joy and love: he will forever remain in their memories, Karli Fisher, Samuel Fisher, Kinley Fisher, Jake Fisher and Kanon Fisher. He is survived by one sister, Bertha (Wayne) Flahrity of Roe, Arkansas.
Benny was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Emma Fisher, two brothers, Gayland Fisher and Floyd Wade Fisher and three sisters, Agnes McNair, Juanita Martin and Emma Jean Barnes.
Benny’s celebration of life will be 11 a.m., Monday, January 30 at Amity Missionary Baptist Church in Hackett, officiated by Brother Dan Borum. Viewing will be Sunday from 3 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Arrangements are entrusted to McConnell Funeral Home in Greenwood.
Pallbearers will be Lynn Fisher, Brian Catlett, Brian Grigsby, Travis Caldwell, GW Bentley, Jonathan Wheeler, Kevin Flahrity and Donnie Wheeler. Honorary pallbearers will be Buzz Hodges, Gerald Bentley and Johnny Gossett.
