Billie Wayne Tankersley, 98, of Pocola, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, October 27, 2020 in a Fort Smith hospital. He was a retired master welder, steam fitter and plumber, and a U.S. Navy veteran.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m., Monday, November 2 at Steep Hill Cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.

He is survived by one son, Mike Tankersley of Pocola; one brother, Paul Minor Tankersley of Williams; one sister, Joyce Minks of Pocola; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins, and a close friend, Carl Green of Pocola. He was preceded in death by his wife, Winifred “Winnie” Tankersley; son, Billie Wayne Tankersley, Jr.; daughter, Judy Peters; brothers, Owen, Alfred, Bud, Junior, Roy, and Ray, and a sister, Jerrie Faye.
