

Billy Dean Driscoll, 89, of Greenwood, Arkansas passed away February 16, 2018 in Greenwood. Billy (or TaTa as he was named by his oldest grandson, Stephen) was born in Keota, Oklahoma to William Joseph Driscoll and Edith Ella Brewer Driscoll on January 1, 1929. Billy was the fifth of seven children and was preceded in death by all: W. Frances, James, Lita Reed, J.V., Joyce Andrews and Mary Sells. Also, preceded in death by two half-sisters, Sheila Riddle and Joann Bibb.
In addition to the Driscoll family, Bill was preceded in death by his father-in law and mother-in-law, Bob and Emma Dunn and brother-in-law, Jim Morgan.
Bill proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. After his service to our country he met the love of his life Johnnie Dunn of Greenwood. After a whirlwind romance of three and a half short months, they were married in Judge Garvis Lee’s office in Van Buren, Arkansas. The honeymoon lasted sixty-four years and ten months.
Billy and Johnnie moved their four children to Sand Springs, Oklahoma in 1967 for a business opportunity with his brother James (known as Bud). While living in Sand Springs his wife and children were eternally blessed to witness Billy being saved and baptized at Angus Valley Church in 1972. Shortly after the family returned to Greenwood.
Bill was a master upholsterer until his retirement in 2012. He was a perfectionist in his work and it showed.
Bill is survived by his wife Johnnie of the home; three sons Rex and wife Stephanie, Marty and wife Leeann all of Greenwood, Marion and wife Sandy of Fort Smith; one daughter Penny and husband Lewis of Greenwood; seven grandchildren, Stephen and Kelly Driscoll of Boca Raton, Florida, Nicholas and Kristy Driscoll of Greenwood, Aubree and Chase Thornton of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Emily and Jacob Gordon, Sarah and Brent Burchfield all of Greenwood, Chanel and Nathan Ashley of Fort Smith and Daisy Harris of Greenwood; seven great-grandchildren, Madison, Averie, Paige and Lanie Driscoll, Forrest Burchfield, Caroline Gordon and Dixie Burchfield all of Greenwood. Bill is also survived by a brother-in-law and sister-in-law Paul and Dianne Dunn; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law Martha and Larry Williams; sisters-in-law Lois Driscoll McGuire and Bobbie Driscoll; half-sister Aileen Metcalf of Tulsa, step-brother Charles and Jean Goins of Roland and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral will be 2:00 pm Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Greenwood with private interment at Liberty Cemetery in Greenwood under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home. Viewing will be 1:00-7:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home where family will greet friends from 5:00-7:00 pm.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Stephen and Nicholas Driscoll, Major Chase Thornton, Jacob Gordon, Brent Burchfield and Nathan Ashley. Honorary pallbearers are Lewis Harris, Paul Dunn and Larry Williams.
