Billy Jack Smith

Billy Jack Smith, 78 of Rye Hill passed away Sunday, August 17, 2014 in Fort Smith. He was retired from GNB Battery after 23 years of service, member of the U.S. Army Reserve; he enjoyed customizing trucks and attended Fellowship Baptist Church.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Friday, August 22, 2014 at Fellowship Baptist Church in Witcherville with burial at Cross Cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing will be Thursday from 1 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 6 – 8 p.m.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Wanda Smith; one son, Jacky Smith and wife, Lisa of Jenny Lind; three grandchildren, Shannon Rowsey and husband, J.D., Samantha Day and husband, Robbie and James Burtrom and wife, Felisha, ten great grandchildren and many special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John T. and Ollie Smith, one sister, LeeDean McHargue and one brother, J.T. Smith.

Pallbearers will be Bud Qualls, Rick Gaither, Floyd Allbaugh, Jerry Mantooth, James Burtrom and Rod Stufflebeam.
