He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Wanda Louise Gordon Lewis; his daughter, Laura Lewis Hoyt and her husband, Freddie; his sister, Mary Sue Rogers and her husband, Carl; his grandchildren, Kelsey Dexter and her husband, Chris, Ashley Barkley and her husband, Kaleb, Allen Hoyt and his wife, Madi, Kassidy Yowell and her fiancé, Hank Griggs, Sammie Lewis and her fiancé, Seth Burger; his great granddaughters, Everly Barkley and Joslin Hoyt; his inherited daughters Melanie Lee Medlock and Megan Lee Wagner and her husband, Blake; his special nephews, Jarrod Gordon and his wife, Kristina, Jeremy Gordon and his wife, Danielle and his special granddaughters, who called him Gamp: Jensine Wagner, Grace Gordon, Emma Gordon, Savannah Gordon, Harper Gordon, Charlotte Gordon, Madi Sims and Addie Bates.
He was preceded in death by his sons, Gerald Lewis and Bobby Lewis Jr; his parents, Archie and Lois Lewis; sister, Judy Lewis Lee and his wife’s parents, Gerald and Ellen Gordon.
Bob worked 40 years at Baldor in Fort Smith, AR. He loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed going to the ball field, hunting with his son, reading science fiction books, watching movies and listening to music. He had an ability to quote lines from all the classic movies and always contributed his vast knowledge of trivia while the family was playing games. He cherished visiting with his grandchildren, attending their events, and was very proud of all their accomplishments. Bob loved his dogs throughout the years especially his beloved Sarge.
The family will be having a private graveside service at Evans Cemetery in Excelsior, Arkansas under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home in Greenwood. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105. A special thank you goes out to Mercy Hospice for their loving care.
