Charlene Bernus Shelby, 93, of Foley, Alabama passed away Sunday, April 27, 2025 in Pensacola, Florida. She was born February 19, 1932 in Conser, Oklahoma to Bernis Forrest and Freida Niaoma (Richmond) Dobbs. Charlene worked in the jewelry and camera department at K-Mart for over 25 years and was a member of the Greenwood First Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son, Dan Shelby and wife, Carla of Foley, Alabama, four grandchildren, Caitlin Cates and husband, Tim, Joshua Shelby, Jonathan Shelby and Joseph Shelby and two great grandchildren, Zayden and Emma Cates. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Robert Shelby, a brother, James Naylor and her sister, Marjorie Jones
Funeral service will be 4 p.m. on Friday, May 2 at Greenwood First Baptist Church with burial at Liberty Cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood, Arkansas. Viewing will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday at the church.
