Daniel “Ray” Rusher, 85, of Huntington, Arkansas was promoted to Heaven on Saturday, April 24, 2021; he was at home at the time. Ray was born on September 10, 1935 in Malvern. He attended Glen Rose High School in Malvern and studied gas air conditioning in Evansville, Indiana. He worked for Witt Stephens with his dad, George Rusher, I in Malvern until he transferred to AOG in Fort Smith, where he worked there for 16 years until they phased out the service department. He then worked for Hawkins Company until he retired.
Ray loved to hunt, fish, camp and work in the garden. Ray really loved where he lived. He loved his family, and will be missed.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 28 at Hartford First Baptist Church with interment at Mount Olive Cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home in Greenwood. Viewing will be Tuesday from 1 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sue Rusher of the home; his son, Daniel Rusher, II and wife, Becky; his stepson, Rich Beneux of Huntington and a brother, George Rusher, II of Bulverde, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Ed and Sarah Jeanette Rusher.
