Donald Lee Rush, Sr., 84, of Greenwood, Arkansas passed away Monday, February 10, 2025 in his home. He was born August 22, 1940 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Henry Washburn Rush and Neva Nadine (Dearen) Rush, McClain.
Don retired after 36 years of service from Rheem, was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and a Jehovah’s Witness. Don and his wife, Betty was married 47 years and raised eight kids together. Don enjoyed rebuilding old cars and trucks, watching the Cardinals play baseball as well as watching Razorback football.
He is survived by three sons, Michael Rush, Sr., Jeff Rush and wife, Tracy, Scott Buttler and wife, Jennifer; three daughters, Beth Allen and husband, Mark, DeAnna Coker and husband, Ray and Brandy Whitson and husband, Monte; two brothers, Gerald McClain and Herbert McClain; three sisters, Brenda Davenport, Donna Brenner and Norma Minton; nineteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Rush, two sons, Don Rush, Jr. and David Rush; two brothers, Robert McClain and J.W. Rush; one sister, JoAnn Taylor and two grandchildren, Angel Rush and Caroline Rush.
A family led memorial service with military honors will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, February 15 at Evans Cemetery in Excelsior. Arrangements are under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
