Emma Louise Benton

Emma Lou Benton who resided in Pocola, OK passed away Friday, December 4, 2015, at Pocola Health and Rehabilitation. She was born November 10, 1928, in Midland, Arkansas. Emma was a retired waitress of 40 plus years. She retired at 62 to enjoy family and friends.

Funeral service will be held 2 pm, Thursday, December 10, 2015 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel, 137 N Main Street, Greenwood, AR. The family will visit with friends at the funeral home from 1-8pm, Wednesday, December 9 at the funeral home. Internment immediately following the service will be at Mount Olive Cemetery in Midland, Arkansas.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Bill Benton; one daughter, Adell Butler and husband, Charles of Riverside, California; one son, Bret Newman and wife, Cory of Pocola; eight grandchildren, Bret Anthony Newman and wife, Ashley, Brittany Elizabeth, Jimmy Spencer, Jeremy Spencer and wife, Rebecca, Jesse Butler, John Butler and wife, Maggie, Louis Nichols and Bert Nichols; eight great grandchildren, Emma Newman, Hartlyn Newman, Melissa Harper, Jeremy Spencer, Brent Nichols, Sierra Nichols, Noah Nichols, Ayden Nichols, Chandler Rogers and one great grandchild on the way; one great-great grandchild, Jackson; and one great-great grandchild on the way. Emma was preceded in death by her parents, Amos and Christina Newquest; brother, Jack Newquest and daughter, Christina Nichols.

Pallbearers will be Bret Anthony Newman, Jimmy Spencer, Jeremy Spencer, Jesse Butler, John Butler, Louis Nichols, Bert Nichols, and Bobby Mariscal.
