Freida Izetta Parish, 83, of Mansfield, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2024 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. She was born December 15, 1940 in Hackett, Arkansas to Odis and Wilma Schlinker. She was retired from Riverside Furniture and home healthcare; she also raised parakeets, lovebirds and cockatiels and was a member of the Dayton Church of Christ.
Freida was beautiful, compassionate, and cherished by all her family and friends. She is known for her beautiful smile, caring ways, putting others before herself and her great commitment to her family and friends as well as her amazing biscuits (which she took great pride in making). She had an unwavering and steadfast love for God, loved nature, gardening and cooking for others. She also loved birds, especially Blue Birds, and always made sure they had food, even when she was barely able to feed them.
She is survived by one son, Danny Parish of Broken Arrow, OK; one daughter, Katherine Spillman of Shawnee; one brother, Robert Schlinker of Witcherville; one sister, Marion Sue Scott and husband, Charlie of Waldron and two grandchildren, Sarah Parish and Audra Spillman. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Parish, one son, Billy Parish and several brothers and a sister.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Monday, May 13 at Dayton Church of Christ with burial at Old Union Cemetery in Hackett under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing will begin at 1 p.m. on Monday at the church.
