

On Monday morning, May 1, 2017, Gerald Dwayne Ray, 84 of Alma, Arkansas, son of Albert William Ray and Ica Mae Ray passed from this world with hands raised high to our Lord to lead him home, where Heaven awaited him to spend eternity with his Savior Jesus Christ and his already deceased siblings, Dempsey Ray, Leatha Jayne Stewart and Phillip Dale Ray and his eldest son, Michael Griffin Ray.
He leaves behind a son, Perry Dwayne Ray of Fort Smith; daughter, Kimberly Diane Qualls of Fort Smith; grandsons, Chris Michael Ray and wife, Lesia of Paris, Aaron Logan Ray and wife, Kate of Fort Smith, Skylar McKinley Qualls of Fort Smith; granddaughter, Emily Amanda Qualls of Greenwood; great grandson, Griffin Michael Ray, son of Aaron and Katie. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m., Friday, May 5 at Denver Street Baptist Church with burial at Liberty Cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday at the church, prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Ed Johns, Jodie Harrelson, Walter Tankersley, Jim Rogers and Basil Kenner.
