James Lee Jones

James L. Jones, our beloved father and grandfather, was born in Ferriday, Louisiana in 1919. At the age of 96, he quietly and peacefully passed away in the comfort of his own home in Fort Smith, Arkansas and went to be with his Lord on June 28, 2016.

He is survived by his daughter, Carol Rispoli and her husband, Conrad of Monroe, Louisiana; his son, James Jones and his wife, Kay of Huntington, Arkansas; his daughter Beverly Adams and her husband, James of Fort Smith, Arkansas. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife of almost 67 years, Charline Westbrook Jones.

Funeral service will be 9 a.m., Friday, July 1, 2016 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith.

Viewing will be Thursday from 5 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends during that time.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Memphis Tennessee, the Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock Arkansas, or the Food Bank of Northeast Louisiana.
