

Jimmy Dale Gossett, 69, of Greenwood, Arkansas was promoted to Heaven on Wednesday, December 6, 2017. He was a member of Jenny Lind First Baptist Church. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Ray Gossett and his mother, Virgie Leigh Holmes Gossett.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Deborah Boersma Gossett; his daughter, Andrea Gossett Reed and husband, Brian; son, Timothy Gossett and wife, Jessica; grandsons, Andrew Reed, Garrett Gossett and Hudson Gossett (on the way); brothers, Edward Gossett and wife, Judy and Aaron Gossett and wife, Bonnie.
Jim graduated from Mansfield High School and State College of Arkansas (UCA). He retired from SWEPCO after 30 years of service. He served as music minister and deacon at several area Baptist churches. He was a former member of the Rotary Club and former Chamber of Commerce President in Booneville, Greenwood and Waldron. He served as Greenwood City Councilman for several years and also Greenwood Interim Mayor for a short time.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Monday, December 11 at Jenny Lind First Baptist Church with burial at Carolan Cemetery in Booneville under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing will be Sunday from 1 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 4 – 6 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Jarod Gossett, Josh Gossett, Alex Gossett, Josh Boersma, Jeff Fugatt and Jeremy Jones. Honorary pallbearer will be Aubrey Boersma.
