

Justin Matthew Smith, 35, of Huntington, Arkansas was born February 24, 1975 in Opelika, Alabama and departed this life Tuesday, September 28, 2010 in a Memphis, Tennessee hospital. He went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ due to complications that developed from his fifth heart surgery. Justin was born with DiGeorge Syndrome which plagued his life with chronic illness. Even with his illness, he was able to accomplish a three year record of never missing a sports event as a manager for Alma High School. He graduated with the citizenship award from Alma High School.
He was known to be happy, loving and giving to others and a true Christian who served his Lord daily. He volunteered three days a week at First Baptist Church of Greenwood. His loving attitude will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He attended Concord Baptist Church for 19 years and after moving to Huntington, he joined First Baptist Church in Greenwood.
Justin is survived by his parents, Danny K. Smith of Huntington and Donna S. Smith of Alma; one brother, Jeffry K. Smith and his wife, Teena of Alma; one sister, Julie Marrs of Alma; two nieces, Macey Marrs and Bailey Smith of Alma and his grandmother, Billie R. Smith of Greenwood. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Boyd Gann, Jr., Billie Gann and Dutch Smith, all from Greenwood.
Funeral service will be 10 am Saturday, October 2, 2010 at Greenwood First Baptist Church with burial at Lovelace Cemetery in Witcherville under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing will be Friday from 1 – 9 pm at the funeral home, where family will visit with friends from 6 – 8 pm.
