Karen Denise Sloan

Karen Denise Sloan, 58, of Charleston, Arkansas passed away Sunday, February 25, 2024. She was born October 24, 1965 in Sacramento, California to James and Elsie (Brasher) Byrd. She was a nurse for 35 years and member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

She is survived by her partner of many years, Larry Moore; five sisters, Debra Fowler, Rita Hammerle, Debbie Wagner, Neitha McMearney and Glenda Exley; three brothers, Bobby Byrd, James “Buddy” Byrd and Jimmy Dale Bryd; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Larry Byrd and sister, Susie Bowers.

A family led memorial service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, March 2 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Hackett. Cremation is under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
