Loyce A. Kennedy, 75, of Greenwood, Arkansas passed away Friday, January 16, 2026 in Fort Smith. She was born November 4, 1950 in Fort Smith to Calvin James and Alice (Barker) Kennedy. She was a retired nursing instructor, teaching at Arkansas Tech and Carl Albert State College, member of Pilgrim’s Rest Primitive Baptist Church in Arkoma, Oklahoma and a US Navy veteran of the Vietnam Conflict.
She is survived by two sisters, Janet Brown and husband, Bobby and Joyce Hubble, six nieces and nephews, Cadie Brown, Tyler Brown, Ashley Brown Turner, Amy Brown Dorsey, Karyn Hubble Clifton and husband, Randy and Carmyn Hubble Ray and many grand nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Deborah Kennedy and a brother-in-law, Gary Hubble.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Monday, January 19 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial at Gilliam Cemetery. Viewing will be Sunday from 1 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 4 – 6 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Cody McCorkle, Tyler Brown, Taylor Pippin, Elder Chris Dunn, Bill Jones and Elder Phillip Blankenship.
