

We are saddened to announce the passing of Mary Virginia Ashley of Greenwood, Arkansas on Thursday, December 18, 2025. Mary was born in Muleshoe, Texas on March 22, 1939 to Thomas and Ethel Edwards, being one of eight children.
Mary enjoyed 67 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Robert (Bob) Ashley. Together, they had four children, DebraLynn Woehrman, Denise Eudey, Michael Ashley, and John Ashley. In addition, Mary and Bob were dedicated foster parents to many children.
In 1997, they moved to Greenwood, Arkansas where they created a beautiful home and enjoyed retirement.
Mary (known as "Nana” by her grandchildren and great grandchildren) was the best wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She radiated joy through her beautiful smile, creative spirit, and infectious giggle. She had a way of making everybody remember the sun will always shine tomorrow and that there is a reason to laugh and be thankful, every single day. The hardships of this life never dimmed the trust she had in the Lord.
In her free time, Mary enjoyed hobbies such as gardening, painting, swimming, sewing, crocheting and trips with her husband, family and friends, and hosting family get togethers.
Mary was a proud member of Asbury Church in Greenwood, Arkansas, where many friendships she held dear were found throughout the years.
She will be dearly missed as the matriarch of the family; but her love, traditions, and guidance will be cherished and carried on throughout every generation.
Mary is survived by her husband, Robert (Bob) Ashley of Greenwood, Arkansas; daughter, DebraLynn Woehrman (Tom) of Wisconsin; daughter, Denise Eudey (Doug) of Arkansas and son, John Ashley (Jill) of Tennessee. She is also survived by her brothers, Leonard Edwards (Dale) and Steve Edwards, and twin-sisters, Fay Kennedy and Linda Gay Amos. Surviving grandchildren include Matthew Woehrman, Alysa Eldeen (Woehrman), Tim Woehrman , Theresa Stoney (Woehrman), Sheaonna Eudey, Makaela Eudey, Morgan Bross (Eudey), Cassidy Ashley, Hailey Ashley, and numerous great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Mary is predeceased by her son, Michael Ashley and brothers, Luther Edwards, Gene Edwards, and Troy Edwards.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, January 7 at Asbury Church in Greenwood, Arkansas.
