

Norman Thomas Griffith entered into heaven Thursday, February 26, 2015. He passed peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones. Norman was born in Shreveport, LA on May 6, 1943 to the late Herman and Dorothy Griffith. He is preceded in death by his brother, John Hugh and his wife, LaVeda; sister, Mary Kay and nephew Darren Hugh.
He was a spirited young man who, at the age of 16, was Arkansas Golden Gloves State Champ. Norman was a former Marine Corps Sergeant who served his country in Vietnam. He received a Purple Heart for combat related injuries. He came home to Arkansas where he spent his remaining years as a builder.
He is survived by his wife, Miria Jenkins Griffith; sons, Gregory and wife, Julie of Bixby, OK, Thomas and wife, Deana of Ft. Smith; daughters, Norma Krahe and husband, Ralf of Bellaire, TX , Melinda Robertson of Fayetteville, AR; grandchildren, Amber, Alex, Nils, Sammie, Erik, Jozie, and Gavin; nieces Retha Kernan and Heather Rogers, and many special Griffith cousins including Lee B., J.T., Sam, Karen Bell, and Carl Kendall; along with his Jenkins Family relatives and many wonderful extended family and friends too numerous to mention.
Funeral will be 10 am Monday, March 2, 2015 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood, Arkansas, with burial in U.S. National Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-4 pm at the funeral home, with the family present at this time.
