Rachel Ann (Rule) Rhodes, 85, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed from this life into God’s Heavenly home on Saturday, March 21, 2026. She was born on January 22, 1941 in Story City, Iowa to George Kenner and Ellen Louise (Bohnsack) Rule. She worked in the medical field for 45 years, the last 29 years as a certified surgical technologist and assistant for the Orthopedic Group at River Valley Musculoskeletal Center. She was a member of Goddard United Methodist Church.
She is survived by one son, Rick Moore and wife, DeeDee of Fort Smith; three grandchildren, Jerry Moore, Rhonda Killion and Joseph Moore; three great grandchildren, Emily and Andrew Killion and Hayden Moore; her sister-in-law, Mary Beth Rule and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 32 years, Rev. Larry R. Rhodes; one grandson, Michael Moore; three brothers, Loren, Lyman and Richard Rule and two sisters, Virginia Meimann and Mary Risdal.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 25 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial at Liberty Cemetery in Greenwood. Viewing will be Tuesday from 1 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
