Roger Eugene Beshears, 70, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2024 in his home. After a brief hospitalization, Roger came home to be surrounded by his loving family and friends. Roger was a dedicated Greenwood Bulldog fan, Saint Louis Cardinal fan and enjoyed watching both teams both in person and on TV.
At 17, Roger and several good friends enlisted in the United States Air Force during the Viet Nam era. Roger was deployed to Greece, where he served his country as a Crytographer in the Intelligence sector.
Throughout his life, Roger wore many hats, he spent his younger years after the military working at Greenwood Industries, his family business. The beautiful cabinetry and fixtures manufactured at Greenwood Fixtures can still be found scattered throughout the local area. After that, he was a successful businessman and developer. One of his proudest moments was being able to work with his sons as sub-contractors for fixture installs nationwide. After retirement, Roger spent his time as full time Medical Transport Driver for Quest. He had a huge heart for his clients and truly enjoyed being able to serve. While work was definitely important to him, time spent with his family, particularly his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren was the thing that fed his spirit.
He is survived by his wife, Lavetta Beshears; his children, Rick Beshears and wife, Paula, Larin Beshears and wife, Jennie, Angela Neas and husband, Patrick, Stacy Garner and husband, Jay, Tommy Thompson and Kaylee Mosley and husband, Jeremy; siblings, Don Beshears, Shirley Hanry and Faye Beshears; grandchildren, Kody, Kaitlyn, Nick, Lauren, Max, Audrey, Abby, Kaleb, Presli, Grady, Israel, JJ, and Indiana and great grandchildren, Ryker, Lynleigh, Leland, CJ, Sage and Dawson.
