Sarah Deanna Wilkerson

Sarah DeAnna Wilkerson passed from this life on May 9, 2024 in Fort Smith, Arkansas, peacefully at the age of 58. She was born on December 28, 1965 to Daniel and Brenda Layne at St. Edward Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith.

Sarah attended Hartford Public School through the sixth grade. Many called her DeAnna and knew she lived a hard and troubled life, but in the past few weeks of battling cancer, she rededicated her life to the Lord and asked for forgiveness. Along life’s bumpy road she met her husband Gary and they wed on April 3rd, 2008.

She is survived by her husband, Gary Wilkerson; six children, Cassy Dugan and Dillon of Abbott, AR, Shannon Troutman and Dex of Duncan, OK, Jeremy Neal of Flippin, AR, Jimmy Layne of Alma, AR, Nikki Anolfo and Eric of Lavaca, AR and Justin Layne of Hollister, MO; two step-children, Lori Richardson and Jeff Wilkerson both of Missouri; one sister, Pamela Miller and W.C. of Hartford; one brother, Steven Layne and Dee of Mansfield; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and other extended family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a step-son, Steven Wilkerson and numerous extended family members.

Viewing will be Wednesday from 4 - 7 p.m. at the funeral home. A private burial will be at the Fort Smith National Cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
