Terrie Gail Garner Stone, “Momier”, age 64 of Greenwood, passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Wednesday, February 3, 2016, where she was greeted with loving open arms by her heavenly Father and her loving grandparents. Gail was a Christian of the Baptist faith. She was a past member of Beta Sigma Phi and “The Bad Girls” cancer survivors. She was Girl Scout, Cub Scout, and 4-H Leader for her children and many others.
She is survived by the love of her life and soul mate of 45 years, Ray Stone. Her daughter, Aundrea Stone Hanna of Greenwood and son, Dustin Stone and his wife, Micah, of Fort Smith. She is survived by eight wonderful grandchildren, Ashton, Morgan, Jordan, Chaise and Gage Hanna of Greenwood, Corbin and Savanna Stone and Jay Johnsen, of Fort Smith. She is also survived by her parents, Ray and Polly Garner; brothers, Tim Garner and wife, Sharon, Dyer Garner and wife, Leigh of Collierville, Tennessee; Leo Garner and wife, Hilda of Charleston, South Carolina; sisters, Cherry Garner of Byhalia, Mississippi; and Dianne Lowery and her husband Jorge Poo of Key Largo, Florida. She adored her grandchildren more than life itself. She loved spending time with her family.
She loved the outdoors and fishing with her family. Gail once traveled to Colorado with her husband, Ray, not to hunt, just to be with Ray. She loved it even when her pants froze to a rock. She obviously knew how to hold her mouth right; she caught more than anyone else most of the time!! She was a hard worker and hated that her health kept her from doing all of the many things that she loved the last couple of years.
She once traveled to England, Wales and Ireland to do research on her family. While there she made friends that she has kept in touch with for 18 years. She loved music and dancing to the end. She was always the life of the party and made a lasting impression on the dance floor, as well as on everyone that she met.
Always full of life and love for others, Gail adopted and took in many young people over the years, especially her son’s many friends who still call her Mom to this day. Gail was always there for her boys with food, advice, and sometimes a well-placed smack, with love of course.
Gail loved the holidays and passed that love onto her children and grandchildren. She went out of her way to make very special memories for her family and friends during the holidays. She never missed a Christmas morning with her grandchildren and kids. She was loyal beyond measure and followed Ray all over the eastern half of the United States without doubting it was the right thing to do. She made sure the kids saw everything there was to see, no matter what part of the country they lived in. She adored new places and new people and never met a stranger.
She was loved dearly by her husband Ray, her children, grandchildren, family and many friends. She loved life, the beach and her time in Florida. She will be greatly missed by all.
