

Wanda Mae “Sissy” South stepped into her heavenly home, where she experienced a wholeness she never knew in this life, on Friday, November 14, 2014, just nine days short of her 79th birthday. Sissy was a lifelong member of Tyro Church, lived in the Midland and Sugarloaf Lake area and was currently a resident of Pink Bud Nursing Home for the Golden Years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Flossie South and Dorsey South; her grandparents, who raised her, Herman Douglas and Lavada Woods and her twin brother, James Ray South.
She is survived by her brothers, twins, Jerry N. South and Terry N. South, Michael G. South and Joseph K. South, all of Arizona and Henry C. South of New Mexico; a nephew, Rick South of Greenwood; her cousins and care givers, Louise McKinney of Sugarloaf, Shirley Oliver of Sugarloaf, Debbie Hudgens of Hartford and Debra Clark of Hackett and many other cousins, nephews and nieces.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, November 17, 2014 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial at Slaytonville Cemetery. Viewing will be Sunday from 1 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Bruce Clark, Roger Clark, Harold Gene McKinney, Barry McKinney, Mark Oliver, David Oliver and Rick South.
The family would like to thank Pink Bud for their loving care the last few years and Peachtree Hospice during her final weeks.
