Wanda Lavaughn (Green) Womack flew into the arms of Jesus on April 24, 2021 at the age of 84. She was born on October 15, 1936 in Hartford, Arkansas to Herman and Nellie Green. She was a lifelong resident of Hartford and it was there that she met and married the love of her life, Otis. Together they labored side by side to raise their large, boisterous family.
She worked tirelessly in various industries throughout the years. Her favorite job by far was cooking for the soldiers at Fort Chaffee whom she lovingly referred to as “her boys.” She loved to cook, was a skilled seamstress, avid quilt maker and she freely used those talents to serve her community. Most of all, she loved her family and instilled in her children strong values that have served them well. Lavaughn loved to laugh and never met a stranger. She lived a full and adventurous life; she will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
Lavaughn is survived by her brother, Charles Green; sister, Norma Green Magness; children, Naomi (Gerry) Hawkins, Sharon (Dave) Matteson, Mary (Bill) Counts, Dan (Tania) Womack, Brenda (Buddy) Swift, Donna (Ken) Tiemann, Melanie (Greg) Robinson; daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Womack; 29 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 18 great great grandchildren and 1 great great great grandchild. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Womack; brothers, Dan Green and Wesley Green; sons, Homer Womack and Sonny Womack; grandson, Chuck Yandell; granddaughter, Shannon Clem; nephew, Bradley Green and a niece, Dana Green Wetherington.
