

He was born June 16, 1932 in Fort Smith Arkansas to the late Guy and Agnes McBride.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Lavada McBride and two brothers, Carl and Jerry McBride.
He is survived by five children, Jeanie Cameron and husband, Sonny, Bill McBride and wife, Marie, Brenda Newton, Larry McBride and wife, Frances and Betty Wiggins and husband, Monty; sister in law, Patsy McBride; 16 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
He was a cook for the United States Air Force for 4 years and a retired principal and teacher at Hackett High School. After graduating with a Master Degree from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville AR he served as a teacher and principal at Hackett High School for a total of 33 years. He taught math, science, and agriculture. He served on the Hackett school board, along with driving a school bus for many years.
After retiring he became a lifelong farmer, a member of the Cattlemen’s Association and served on the Farm Bureau Board of Directors.
Viewing will be Sunday, May 22 from 1:00-8:00 pm at McConnell Funeral Home and visitation with the family will be from 4:00-6:00 pm. The funeral will be 2:00 pm, Monday, May 23 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel with interment at Old Union Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons and great grandsons.
