November 26, 1959–September 25, 2021
Alyssa Orgill passed unexpectedly from this life on September 25, 2021, in Gresham, Oregon.
Alyssa entered this life on November 26, 1959, in the beautiful city of Honolulu, Hawaii, as the second daughter of Carol and Montie M. Orgill. She would later be joined by three other sisters.
After four years in Hawaii, the Orgill family moved to Fort Collins, Colorado, where they lived for 9 years.
They later moved to Richland, Washington, where Alyssa graduated from Columbia High School in 1978. Alyssa had a normal childhood full of dolls, friends, music lessons, dance lessons, and childhood mischief. As she got older, she developed an interest in ballet, sewing clothes, and decorating her surroundings. She learned an appreciation for work by babysitting and cleaning homes during her junior high and high school years. As a young adult, she certified to be a travel agent and a beautician as well as took classes at Brigham Young University. She spent many years cutting hair and had many loyal customers. While in Richland, Washington, she also kept busy teaching children’s dance at the local ballet studio. Years later, after moving to Gresham, Oregon, she traded her beautician’s license for a surgical technology degree and worked many years at hospitals in the Gresham and Portland area. Alyssa lived to travel and every year visited other countries or U.S. states. She also stayed active skiing and playing golf. In addition to these activities, Alyssa also kept busy raising two children, including them in her many adventures. She had an energetic and vibrant personality that lit up a room and was a fun friend to many people.
Alyssa is survived by her two children and sisters Loretta (Salt Lake City, UT), Regina (Federal Way, WA), and Karina Hoff (Brian; Wappingers Falls, NY), as well as 9 nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Carol and Montie, and sister, Melanie.
The Orgill family would like to thank the Legacy Mt. Hood Medical Center doctors and nurses for the care of Alyssa in her last hours.
Since there will be no burial, in lieu of flowers, the family suggests donating to a trust for Alyssa’s autistic son, Lucas Anderson, at IQ Credit Union, Vancouver, Washington.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.batemancarrollfunerals.com for the Orgill family.
