Barbara Ann Mariani

Barbara Ann Mariani was born June 17th, 1934 in Portland, OR. She grew up in southeast Portland, graduating from Franklin High School in 1952. Later that year she got married to the love of her life Jules Augustine Mariani Jr. Eight years later in 1960 she had her first born child, Robert A. Mariani, and three years after that she had her second child, Linda J. Mariani. She worked at Smiths Home Furnishing and GNC Manufacturing while raising her children. In 1981, Barbara became a widow and never remarried. In 1982 she became a grandmother to her first grand child Kyle Mariani. Elven years later her second grandchild, Dominic DiVito was born, and eight years after that her third grandchild, Sydney Nielson, was born. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and she was a wonderful grandmother to them. She is survived by her sister Beverly Entrikin. Barbara’s favorite things to do other than spending time baking cookies and making jam and applesauce with her grandchildren, were planting roses, taking care of her cats, and listening to 50s music, such as, Elvis Presley, Dean Martin, and Frank Sinatra. Barbara passed away May 22nd, 2022. The family has asked in lieu of flowers, please donate to the Oregon Humane Society or the Dementia Society of America.
