Carol married Julius Laurent on December 9, 1961 in Gresham, Oregon. Julius died in 2008.
Carol was a graduate of Gresham High School. She belonged to the Powell Valley Garden Club, Hardy Plant Society and the Red Hat Society.
Some of Carol’s interests included gardening, playing bunco, hiking, painting, baking and going out on lunch dates with her sisters and her friends.
Survivors include her son Gary (Cindy) Laurent, Gresham, OR., daughter, Julie (Jason) Chin, Gresham, OR., three sisters, Annell Carlson, Gresham, OR., Dorothy Stites, Portland, OR., and Barbara Watnee, Gladstone, OR., sister-in-law Kathy Anderson, Gresham, OR, her five grandchildren, Tyler (Elizabeth) Laurent, Trevor Laurent, Madi Laurent, Cameron and Emily Chin, and her two great-grandchildren, Elanor and Alice Laurent. Carol was preceded in death by her brother Eric Anderson.
Memorial service will be on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home, 520 W. Powell Blvd. in Gresham, Oregon.
