Debra Jeanine Kuraspediani was born on March 14th, 1959 in Carmel, California to Thomas and Lois Hougan. Debbie received her Bachelor's degree in Speech Communications from Portland State University in 1981. Debra married David Kuraspediani and raised two children, Kristina and Daniel. Debra loved her career with NorthWest Public Power Association representing public power in the northwest as the Communication Director where she worked for over 25 years.
Debbie loved family and faith in Christ, to which she gave her truest devotion and undivided attention. A lover of flowers, Debbie enjoyed watching breathtaking sunsets on Hawaiian beaches, while listening to her and her husband’s favorite Hawaiian song, “Somewhere Over the Rainbow" by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole (IZ). Her devotion to her family was shown through the love she poured into them; she held them close with all her heart, nurturing them with the love only a mother could give. In many ways, Debbie displayed the true image of Christ through her authentic personality that embraced everyone with unconditional love and care, even while she was battling endometrial cancer during the Coronavirus Pandemic.
During her life, Debbie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She leaves behind her husband, David, her daughter, Kristina, who is married to Billy Breece, and her son, Daniel, who is married to Tallie Kuraspediani. To her lineage she is survived by her two grandsons, Bennett and Micah, and her granddaughter, Alayna, who was born to Daniel and Tallie Kuraspediani just two days before she passed away on July 8th. Debbie also leaves behind her two brothers, Scott and Mark Hougan, and their children, as well as her cousins Ed and Karen Ayes, and their son Tom.
A private family-only funeral service will be held to celebrate Debbie's life and impact. Arrangements entrusted to Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham, Oregon
