

Dorothy was born on November 17, 1950 in Phoenix, Arizona and was the daughter of Belarmino and Ruth (Baca) Olguin. In 1951 she moved with her family to Portland where she graduated from Parkrose High School in 1968. She worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs in Portland for a while and also as a job counselor for the handicapped. She found her calling in Funeral Service in the early 1990's and worked as a family service counselor for Wilhelms Funeral Home, Portland Memorial, and Lincoln Memorial Park and Funeral Home. In 2003 she transfered to Bateman Carroll Funeral Home and Forest Lawn Cemetery in Gresham where she worked for over 6 years.
Dorothy had many hobbies and pastimes of which included her love for art and good music. She loved going to concerts, watching her son play in his band and spending time with her family and friends. She also loved food and to cook.
Dorothy was a true inspiration She saw the good in everyone around her and even remained positive when she was enduring some of the most difficult times in her life. Dorothy was a true mentor and friend to many and will be dearly missed not only by her family but by the many friends she made along the way.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Matthew Wallwork of Boulder, Colorado, brothers, Arthur Olguin of Idaho and Henry Olguin of Seattle and sister, Linda Liebenthal of Portland along with many nieces, 1 nephew, many cousins and friends. Her son, Aaron Hunt and brothers, Robert Olguin and Edward Olguin all preceded her in death.
A Celebration of Dorothy's Life will be held on Friday, February 18, 2011 at 1:00 pm at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham. Contributions may be made in memory of Dorothy to the Diabetes Association. Bateman Carroll Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
