Born on October 3, 1929, in Stilwell, Oklahoma, to John and Ida Williams, Dorothy's journey through life was marked by her unwavering spirit, deep love for her family, and a zest for community.
Raised across Oklahoma, California, and Oregon, Dorothy's early education took place at Hillsview Grade School and Gresham Union High School. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she became a devoted member of Trinity Lutheran Church on August 26, 1946, where she shared her love for teaching as a Sunday school teacher, nurturing the next generation with kindness and wisdom.
Dorothy's life was a tapestry of roles and passions. She embraced the joys of motherhood, worked as a berry farmer, and served her community as a school bus driver, always with a smile and a helping hand. Her hobbies reflected her vibrant personality; she was an enthusiastic member of old car clubs, including the Rose City Model T Club and the Model A Club, and she cherished the camaraderie found at the Portland Swap Meet and Sandy Square Dance.
A true social butterfly, Dorothy found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was sharing breakfast at McDonald's or enjoying dinner at the Red Apple. She loved riding the senior bus to Grand Ronde Casino, where laughter and friendship flourished. Her infectious sense of humor and her eagerness to help others made her a cherished presence in the lives of all who knew her.
Dorothy will be remembered as a beacon of happiness and generosity, with her family standing as her greatest legacy. She leaves behind her loving sons, Allen (Carlene) Marschman and Gene (Eleni) Marschman; along with her cherished grandchildren, Lisa Daun, Lori Munden, Joana Maletis, and Stephanie Marschman; great-grandchildren, Brandon Daun, Amber Conord, Nathan Clark, Emily Clark, Stella Maletis, and George Maletis; and her great-great-grandchildren, Madelynn Conord, Bennett Daun, Jackson Daun, and Henry Conord, who will carry forward her spirit of love and joy.
Dorothy will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband, Arnold Marschman, at Willamette National Cemetery, where they will continue their journey together in eternal peace.
In honoring Dorothy's life, we celebrate a woman who embodied love, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to family and community. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those she touched.
