

Emeline was born on January 28, 1916 in Los Animas, Colorado and was the daughter of Forest and Lottoie (Coffelt) Brown. As a child she lived in Colorado, Missouri and attended school in Hall Summit, Kansas.
On August 27, 1933, she married Elmer Chatelain in Hall Summit, Kansas and they moved to Gresham in 1936 and later to Sandy in 1987. Emeline worked as a homemaker and volunteered with her church, Haley Baptist Church and later Sandy Baptist Church. She served as the President for the Women’s Mission Circle and helped as the Treasurer.
Emeline had many hobbies. She enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing and embroidery. She was known for being an amazing cook and always put her family first. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Emeline is survived by her daughter, Joan (husband, Loren) Albers of Sandy and her sisters, Florence Chatelain of Sandy and Mary Bates of Eagle Creek along with two grandsons, John Michael of Sandy and David Michael of Gresham. Her husband, Elmer, daughter, Betty, sisters, Ruby Douthit and Hazel Chatelain and her granddaughter, Lisa Norell Lake and her husband Douglas Lake all preceded her in death.
A private family service was held. Private Interment was at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Gresham. Contributions may be made in memory of Emeline to Mt. Hood Hospice. Bateman Carroll Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
