Native Oregonian Eric Steven Gustafson passed away September 3, 2015, due to a single driver motorcycle accident while in California. Eric was born December 18, 1967, as the family’s best Christmas gift. Eric was a graduate of Reynolds High School and the University of Washington. After graduation he went on to become a Sherriff’s Deputy for Multnomah County, A job he faithfully served for 26 years. Music played an important role in his life. He followed diverse artists, which gave him great pleasure. He had an uncanny ability to identify unique musicians, both classic and contemporary. Eric was a passionate motorcycle enthusiast and had an amazing gift of photographing his journeys. His travels took him all over the world. If you were to look at his Facebook pictures you would discover he had a special talent finding all the hidden treasures along his path. This inspired many to join him in his love for riding. Even though his time with us was too short, we are comforted knowing he was doing what he loved. He was preceded in death by his father and is survived by his mother, Alice; sisters, Susan (Daryl), Sally (Rick) and Sonja (Steve); and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 13, 2015 at Mount Hood Community College Gymnasium. Light refreshments will be served. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue www.mcsosar.org.
