

Eugenia or “Jean” known by to her friends was born in Oregon City to Ruth and Alfred. She grew up in the Oak Grove area and graduated from Franklin High School. She later went to art school and took business classes to later become a secretary in downtown Portland for the United Good Neighbor Company. Later in life she worked many years as a secretary for Mt. Hood Community College in the student center where she enjoyed interacting with the students and their many activities. She went on to work for an alternative school, Wynn Watts, where she eventually retired.
Jean was a member of Lynch Wood Church of God and gave to many charities. She was a member of the Humane Society and had a deep passion throughout her life for animals, especially cats. She enjoyed gardening, oil painting and spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Eugenia was preceded in death by her twin daughters at birth; Melody Jean and Mellany Joan. She is survived by her husband Marvin Crockett of Portland, OR; daughters Pamela Crockett of Lincoln City, OR; Patrice Swirtz of Neskowin, OR; Janice Rogers of Portland, OR; Jill Paola of Sandy, OR; grandchildren, Crystal Swirtz; Anthony Swirtz; BrieAnn Rogers; Jay Daw; Jordan Paola; and Roma Di’ Ambrosio; and great-grandchildren, Jaysson Swirtz-Ferdig and Gina Taylor.
A private family gathering to celebrate Jean’s life will be held at a later date.
