Two years already? Where has the time gone?
Today as I remember my brother and his many positive impacts on my life and others, its hard to believe such a good person is no longer with us. He was always there to teach anyone what he could, was a great friend to all and loved unconditionally! He was so  loved by many people, friends and family alike. A stranger was only someone he hadn't met yet.  But, mostly I want to say what an honor it is belonging to such a family.  We are so blessed that his Son, Jared, looks so much like him that he is still here with us!!!!!!!

Years ago we were at the coast together. I took off to walk to town to buy cigarettes. When it started to rain Frank hopped in the rig to come find me so I didn't have to walk back.
That's the kind of guy Frank was.

GTAC was the “group home” for the employees of GTE/VERIZON. It was, in day’s gone by, an institution, at which friends, known or not, became family.  Everyone was a friend, guide & someone anyone could ask for help. There were a few that the gathering wasn’t underway until they arrived, Frank was one of them. You knew he was there when the noise volume increased. He never met a stranger, just a “new friend” added to the list, and always on call if you needed help.

I am so blessed to have Sheila Oxford Ping as my sister.  Through her and her family, I also had many enjoyable adventures with Frank and Lana over the years.  Everything from travels to many nights of playing cards and fun times at the Eagles.  Thank you for these memories that will never be forgotten.  My prayers go out to Lana and family.  

Growing up with Frank as a big brother was amazing. He always looked out for us girls. He taught me how to dance and how to drive. He was tough at time but I always knew he loved me. I’d walk in the door and he would holler “Hi Stinky”. He was always there for me no matter what without question. I loved being his little sister and I am going to live him every day for the rest of my life. Everyone who knew Frank loved Frank. Rest In Peace big brother. We will help watch over your beloved wife. All your kids and grandkids will miss you. 

I remember as a young girl coming up behind my uncle Frank while he was cutting some meat at a family bbq and I startled him and he turned around and yelled that you don't come up behind someone while they have a knife in there hand cause they could cut there dam fingers off, he scared the shit outta me and I was afraid of uncle Frank til I was 13 and then he became my favorite uncle ever. Frank always had a beautiful smile on his face always laughing and would always take the time to stop and talk to anyone family friend or complete stranger Frank always tried to make everyone's day better if they were feeling down he was an amazing husband father friend and most of all an amazing person that I had in my life and I'm so glad I went to say goodbye the day before he passed you will be missed and always loved and in my heart uncle Frank. Cards, Dominos,  BBQ's, parties and all the years of GTAC gatherings. Frank and Lana have been such an integral part of the Ping family and in the last 9 years with Gib Johnson too.  Thru the GTE years, lots of times at the Gresham Eagles, dancing, playing pool and family times with kids and grandkids and Santa gatherings. New Years day was usually spent at the Sargent house, with Frank cooking omelettes  or Frank cooking breakfast at the Gresham Eagles on many occasions. Since retiring from GTE/Verizon motorhome times all around the country. Even enjoying Niagara Falls with Frank and Lana and a ride up the locks on the Erie Canal.  To say close friends is truly an understatement.  Frank made homemade kahlua and apple pie liquor and Lana made cookies and other baked goodies, but most importantly was getting together to exchange and partake of the good stuff! with lots of laughs, food and drink too.  The last few years getting together for a week and even a month or two at Garibaldi has been super and will never be forgotten.

Fond memories of being at the beach, catching crabs and Frank cooking them.  Then cracking them open and Frank making crab omelets.  Frank was a great cook.  We enjoyed hanging out with Frank & Lana and playing Hand & Foot.  We spent a fun week together in Las Vegas for Frank's 60th birthday!  Frank will be remembered and missed.  Our prayers go out to Lana & family.


Like Jared, im a GTE Kid. Saying that we were close with the Moore's growing up would be an understatement. They fit the bill as Family more than most of my blood relatives. From the GTAC events to holiday cookies, playing cards til the wee hours of the morning, summertime pool parties, hunting and a host of many other shared times between our families. 

Frank was like that cool uncle to me. he took me on my first ride on a real motorcycle, he taught me everything i know about carpentry, taught me to repair a hole in my bicycle tube, he bravely took part in teaching me to drive by letting me drive his truck while the two of us were hunting together, we went off roading in his old Subaru Brat at the coast. He was always willing to spend time with me as a friend, mentor me as a young man, and party right along side of us. 

I am blessed to have been able to spend so much time with Frank throughout my life. the memories that i have will be with me until it is my time to join Frank and my Father for another round.

I met Frank when I went to work at Gereral Telephone. We have shared many memorable  times over the years. We were all a bunch of young adults (we were called kids by the 'Ol Timers')back then, we were the 20 something's. It was like a big family in those days, all or children knew one another and we did many things together.picnics,pizza parties,family bingo by GETAC. We have kept in contact all these years and would get together every year here at the coast, they were here this year for Garabildi Days. We had a great time. I will miss my friend, his fun loving 'got ya's'  and teasing. Frank will live on in the memories of his family and many friends.

Although Frankie was almost out of the house by the time I was born,  (15 years older!) Our Mother made sure he watched over all us younger kids.  He was the one who bought me my 1st car and showed me how to do simple wiring.  He always carried multi-tool on him when he worked at the phone company. He always had a smile for us and everyone, but, we knew not to cross him. I remember one time his son, Mikie was climbing a tree in the front yard at mom's house. We all knew he was in BIG trouble if they would have come home to find him up that tall tree. Well, needless to say he fell, right on top my little brother!!! Thankfully, he didn't get hurt. (Not until his parents got home!) But, it broke my brothers leg!!! So, not only did I loose a very special big brother, I lost a father figure, as well.  Signed. His baby sister.
